1962 Marx, Huckleberry Hound Car in Original Box

1962 Marx, Huckleberry Hound Car in Original Box

Outstanding friction driven  Huckleberry Hound car in immaculate near mint+ condition complete with original box. Manufactured by Louis Marx, Japan and copyrighted by Hanna-Barbera.

Features a solid blue tin litho convertible with an oversize Huckleberry at the wheel. Early 60's style vehicle with chrome plated wrap around bumpers, grille, and head lights. The characters arms and upper torso are also tin litho and are integrated into the car. From the neck up to his top hat, Huck is painted vinyl. Underside of car is a single tin litho embossed plate. It's lithoed solid black and includes the Marx Japan logo and Hanna-Barbera copyright outlined in white. The four tires or solid rubber with treaded rims.

The box was illustrated with a panel wide cartoon drawing of Huck speeding along in his vehicle. The toy name and logo were also printed on the front cover. The aprons show two other Hanna-Barbera character cars, Quick Draw McGraw and Yogi Bear. On opposite ends of two aprons are small black and white line drawing of the entire Huckleberry Hound and friends line-up. Too bad that after 45+ years they've nearly faded into obscurity.
